MDS 3.0 Certificate Program

Healthcare Academy offers a comprehensive MDS 3.0 Certificate Program to help educate staff on the MDS 3.0 Assessment.  This curriculum was designed in conjunction with industry thought leaders as a tool for effective interdisciplinary team (which includes occupational therapists, physical therapists, social workers, nurses) training.  The Minimum Data Set (MDS) standardizes, assesses and facilitates care management for long-term care residents and emphasizes resident interviews, ensuring the resident a strong voice in care planning.  The MDS 3.0 Certificate Program contains a serious of comprehensive lessons that contain information about planning for care, coding tips, special populations and steps for assessments.  Learners will practice their skills using a case study to code every element of the Resident Assessment Instrument throughout this series.

Better coding means more accurate reimbursements:

Better educated staff are able to code precisely which translates into reimbursements that are more closely matched to the services delivered by your team.

Unique case study approach reinforces accurate coding practice:

Utilizing a case study approach, Healthcare Academy MDS 3.0 training is unique because it provides a typical resident scenario to enable learners to code an actual case from start to finish, for hands on practice that reflects a real-world coding example.

MDS 3.0 Training Applications

Healthcare Academy MDS 3.0 training can be used in the following areas:

  • New hire training;
  • Assess current staff coding abilities;
